Our Story
Gus and Marty’s is a Greek-American restaurant in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn from the founders of Egg Shop, husband-wife team Sarah Schneider and Demetri Makoulis.
Conceived as an elevated neighborhood gathering spot and inspired by tavernas and kafenios from the couple’s travels in Greece, the menu has been designed to honor Greek culinary tradition, while embracing a modern sensibility.
Named after their fathers - Gus, a Greek immigrant who came to NYC in the 1970’s - and Marty - a born and raised Brooklynite - Gus and Marty's is the marriage of the founders' family stories and their expression of a Greek-American restaurant.
